Problem

Players were obsessed with the previous Call of Duty game, Black Ops III, but we needed to get them excited about the upcoming title, CoD: Infinite Warfare.

Solution

Have the villains of Infinite Warfare invade the game world of Black Ops III.

Description

Hostile Takeover was a weekend-long reveal campaign for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare that literally shook the world of Call of Duty to grab the attention of fans. It was a multi-media scavenger hunt that had players look for clues across the game itself and social media. Then they had to report to the hero of Infinite Warfare, via a state of the art Facebook Messenger chatbot (this was well before ChatGPT) to unlock the game's reveal trailer. To bring it to life we had to orchestrate a never before seen collaboration between the three Call of Duty game studios.
